Increased use of Gecko live chat by 50%


To increase interaction with the University of Nottingham’s live chat functionality provided by third-party, Gecko and apply the existing university brand.

Feedback indicated that users didn’t feel it was a legit feature as it didn’t seem visually trustworthy or appealing.

Improvements made

  • Increase in font size
  • Use of blue gradient in place of University logo and grey backgrounds
  • Pink call to action as per rest of website – enabling the white text to be visible
  • Higher contrast on input field border to increase legibility
  • Change of messaging/welcome text
